Chris Riffle's brand of heartfelt folk is a product-and a tale-of two coasts. There's no mistaking the pastoral, spacious sound of his roots-the picturesque coastal towns of Washington state, where while still in college Riffle began making waves on local radio stations, and landed support gigs for such indie mainstays as Death Cab for Cutie.

And yet it's the other side of the country, on New York's famously gritty Lower East Side, where Chris has recently found a second home, becoming a mainstay performer at the venerable Living Room, collaborating with members of The Mars Volta, Ollabelle, and Antony and the Johnsons. On the touring front, Chris's travels have taken him to both coasts, as well as a recent trip to the Last Frontier - Alaska.

The new EP Another Dream marks Riffle's third release in the last couple years with veteran producer Jimi Zhivago. Not only does it represent Chris's most determined move yet into a pop realm, but it's the artist's richest, most lush production to date. On tracks like the shimmering, tender "All That We Hold", the hopeless late-night romanticism of "While You Run" and the sensual closer "Kiss On the Cheek", layers of piano, bass and, notably, organ conspire with Riffle's guitar and gossamer vocals, for tracks that envelop-intimate meditations on place and creativity. And lest we forget: "And I Love Him", a jazzy, chilled-out reworking of a McCartney chestnut that Riffle makes most decidedly his own.
